Noé finishes his speech with a snap of his wrist, wringing the washcloth out over the basin before moving to lay it over Vanitas’s forehead.
“I said I get it already!” that man grumbles, his voice thick with congestion. “Now leave me alone and let me sleep!”
Noé glares. “Perhaps I might, Vanitas, if I could be assured that you would not repeat this behavior! Yet time and again, I find you have slipped away without notifying anyone, and when you return, you are in a state like this!” He gestures to the cocoon of blankets and crumpled handkerchiefs that presently makes up most of Vanitas’s body. “And you’re lucky that this time, it was only a cold! You could have frozen to death out there!”
